What Presidential candidates would say if they were honest
Taking a moment to reflect on the Presidential race, all of the comments debate and punditry that has gone on since the beginning of the year, I was sitting back and remembered something. The television show, The West Wing, had probably the best debates and political competition I have ever experienced in 40 years of my life.
Taking a scene from that show, I want to share a thought that I think is very important in the division among conservatives, liberals, democrats, republicans and everyone else in the nation right now.
Let me know your thoughts.

What a joy it is to have a show written by someone like Aaron Sorkin, who knows enough about politics and the constitution to frame important statements in an entertaining way.
If only we had something of that calibre in the UK. Instead we have a staggering level of ignorance. People either believe what they are told or resignedly accept statements as "Probably lies, but what can you do?"
We're currently struggling against the introduction of biometrics, one of the greatest confidence tricks a government has ever perpetrated!
Thankfully, we don't have a need to profess piety. I have often felt this may be related to the retention of an established church. I know that sounds counter-intuitive, and as an atheist, you might think I would be against it, but it delivers a 'winner' in the religion stakes, that prevents the competition seen in your Bible Belt:
"We're more pious than that other church down the road!"
"No we're more religious, we demand you say you are, too!"
All the best, Oliver Vass
